"JOEL GOLDES ENSURED THAT PURE NEW ORLEANS IS SPOKEN HERE."

-- BACKSTAGE WEST REVIEWING 'TOYS IN THE ATTIC"

An actress I coached by phone into a Texas accent for a new project written and directed by Quentin Tarantino wrote: "The Tarantino audition went GREAT! He loved my accent. Thank you so much! I've always been scared of attempting dialects, but the way you teach them makes it oh, so simple!"

I participated on a panel about linguistic profiling for the Housing Rights Center's annual summit, held at the Los Angeles Times headquarters. Also participating were a socio-linguist, an employment attorney and a professor of American Studies. The panel discussion focussed on people who are discriminated against based on assumptions made about their race based on the sound of their voice. On June 3rd and 4th, I'll teach several workshops in Louisiana on learning the neutral or regionless American accent. These will be held in the Shreveport area, and may expand to Baton Rouge or New Orleans if demand is sufficient.
